Welcome to Sense Adventures
Guided activity days and short break holidays for the blind and visually impaired.
Sense Adventures gives you the chance to take time out to explore the countryside in a safe and secure environment. We offer day activities and short breaks, in mixed groups, in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. You will be accompanied by trained, one-to-one guides to assist as you require for the duration of your activity. Founder Dee is herself visually impaired and aims to offer the activities that she sought for herself, but could not find.
Most activities take place on the Malvern Hills, an area of outstanding natural beauty nestling between the counties of Herefordshire and Worcestershire. Famed for its dramatic hills and for the pure spring water that flows from them, the Malvern Hills offer so much more besides. More recently we have added short breaks in The Gower, South Wales and Dartmouth, South Devon, and even theatre trips to Malvern Theatre now that audio described performances are available.
Our activities and holidays aim to be fun and inclusive. We can accommodate individuals and couples alike. Guide dogs are welcome.

Day Walks
Our day walks take place on the Malvern Hills. The Malverns are formed by a granite outcrop along a ten-mile stretch. The ridge forms a natural boundary between the counties of Worcestershire to the East and the rolling countryside of Herefordshire to the West.
The walk allows us to gain height easily to enjoy extensive views across the Severn Valley to Bredon Hill, the Western point of the Cotswolds, and west to the Welsh hills.
This series of day walks on The Malvern Hills and surrounding countryside will be led by local leaders who have knowledge of the area. There will be the opportunity to stop for refreshments.
Length of walk: Up to 8 miles but varies according to group
Degree of difficulty: Moderate
Price: £15
Upcoming Dates

Short Breaks
Our adventures allow you to immerse yourself in the delights of beautiful scenery and connect with the rhythms of nature. Learn about the surroundings, birdsong and history from local guides who lead the walks and help bring the landscape to life.

Our walking breaks include carefully selected local accommodation, meals, guided walks, and visits to attractions and locations that will delight the senses.
For more information and a full weekend schedule please contact Dee.
Upcoming Dates
There are no short breaks scheduled at the moment. We will contact everyone on our mailing list when new days are added.
Theatre trips
Malvern Theatres are now embracing more audio described (AD) performances. Sense Adventures will go as a group to the touch tours prior to the AD performance. Touch tours are fascinating. They allow you to meet some of the actors and go up on stage.

In addition to the theatre trip, we are offering a two-night stay in Malvern. This will include a guided walk around Malvern prior to the theatre visit, and then a visit to a local place of interest such as a National Trust property the following day.

If you are interested in joining one of our theatre trips, please contact us using the Enquiry Form button.

Donate
Weʼre raising £2,000 to Sense Adventures holidays for the blind.
Your donation will help to reduce the cost for a blind person who may otherwise not be able to get away for a holiday. Our holidays and day walks are fun and sociable and foster lasting friendships. The focus is on being out in the fresh air and sharing this beautiful landscape with regular and new friends as well as learning about the countryside.
Your donation will make a real difference to the life of a blind person.
Testimonial from Debbie, Hereford with Guide Dog Tara:
"I attended my first event in May and I honestly didn’t know what to expect. I’ve never attended an unknown venue on my own and I was a little nervous. I needn’t have worried. I was met off the train by my guide for the day and she took us by car to the venue. Alison, the yoga teacher, was lovely and tailored her session to all levels and abilities. The gong bath was a new experience for me. It’s so therapeutic. I can’t wait to go again."
